VIV China 2012: Food Safety Poultry Forum & Breeding Pig Industry Development Symposium

Welcome to part IV in this weeks round up of VIV China 2012, which was attended by our representatives from Perendale Publishers along with industry experts and market leaders from all across the world. Today we take a look at the Food Safety Poultry Forum and also the Breeding Pig Industry Development Symposium which were two excellent examples of why VIV China 2012 was so important this year.

Food Safety Poultry Forum

The Food Safety Poultry Forum took place on October 21, 2012 with the ambition to discuss; how to create a food safety culture “from the chain of feed to food” and the establishment of a food safety standard and supervision system to encourage the self-discipline of food companies.

Over a hundred visitors attended the forum which platformed a great debate among them thanks to both the guests and the carefully selected guest speakers. One of whom was Greg Watt, President/CEO at WATT publisher of the Poultry International China Edition and WATT. Talking to us after the forum he immediately stated his wish to repeat this valuable meeting prior to VIV China’s next edition in 2014.

Breeding Pig Industry Development Symposium

The Beijing International Breeding Pig Industry Development Symposium (BPIDS), was organized by the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine (CAAV) and took place on September 24, 2012.

Again showcasing an array of quality speakers, visitors were also treated to an opening ceremony which was seen by over 300 Chinese and international delegates.  Initiator Mr. Machuang, Director International Affairs at CAAV, looks back at success of the event with pleasure saying, “This is a great event and so many have come to see it which is why it is so good to be here.”
